Disabled Employees of Semen Baturaja Achieve Achievements at Peparnas XVII Solo 2024

BATURAJA – Hendri Radilah, an employee of PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (SMBR) as a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG), has once again achieved an achievement at the national level. Representing the Province of South Sumatra (Sumsel), Hendri and his colleagues won Three Bronze Medals in the Wheelchair Fencing sport at the XVII National Paralympic Week (PEPARNAS) which took place on 6-13 October 2024 in Solo, Central Java.
As a disabled employee who works in the SMBR Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Unit, Hendri proved that physical challenges are not a barrier to achieving achievements. This victory is not the first for Hendri. Last year, he also managed to bring home three medals in table tennis, including 1 Gold in the Men’s Singles Category, 1 Silver in the Men’s Team Category, and 1 Bronze in the Men’s Doubles Category at the 4th South Sumatra Provincial Paralympic Week (Peparprov) held in Lahat Regency. This achievement further confirms Hendri as a tough and inspiring athlete, both in the corporate environment and the disabled community.
SMBR Vice President of Corporate Secretary Hari Liandu, expressed his pride in Hendri’s achievement. He emphasized that Hendri has shown that physical limitations do not reduce the spirit and determination to achieve. “Hendri is an inspiration to all, and we hope that his achievements can motivate other employees to continue to fight and achieve extraordinary achievements. We will continue to support the development of the potential of all employees,” said Hari.
Hendri’s success also received full support from SMBR, which is committed to encouraging the development of employee potential, including in the field of sports. The company realizes the importance of inclusion and empowerment of disabled employees in various aspects, including in sports activities.
Hendri himself expressed his pride in this achievement. According to him, physical limitations are not an obstacle to achieving dreams and achieving in the field of sports. “I feel proud to be able to bring home this medal and make Semen Baturaja proud,” he said. He also added that the support from family, friends, and the company really helped him to stay motivated and fight in future events.
The XVII Peparnas event in Solo brought together disabled athletes from all over Indonesia who competed in various sports. The spirit and fighting spirit of the athletes became an inspiration for the entire community, and Hendri’s achievement is real proof that physical limitations do not limit achievement. (*)
