Production Process

  • Quarry

The process of making cement starts from the mining of raw materials which become the raw material of cement maker, which is limestone and clay in Baturaja.

  • Crusher

The breaking and crushing process will produce fine raw materials.

  • Storage

Refined raw materials are transported to storage (limestone storage and clay storage) and mixed with silica sand and iron sand to make raw meal.

  • Raw Mill

Raw meal will be ground in the raw mill after the drying process and the result is stored into raw material storage silo.

  • Heating and Combusting

After initial heating in the Preheater, the next process is combustion in the clinic, using coal fuel. The result of this process is called clinker. Once cooled, the clinker is stored in the storage.

  • Clinker Milling

Clinker produced by Baturaja Factory is partially milled at Baturaja Plant and partly brought to Palembang and Panjang Factory for further process in both factories.

In the factories, the clinker is milled, and added auxiliary raw materials such as gypsum, before being put into the cement mill.

  • Packaging

A packing plant comprises an integrated system of machinery ranging from transport equipment to the packer itself. The packer performs the task of bagging or packaging cement—producing standard bags (such as 50 kg units) or 1-ton big bags—and ensures precise weight filling. It represents the final stage of the cement production process, yielding packaged products destined for markets in South Sumatra and Lampung.
