Semen Baturaja Provides CSR Assistance for OKU Regency Damkarmat

BATURAJA – PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (SMBR) as a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) provides Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) assistance to the Ogan Komering Ulu Regency (OKU) Fire and Rescue Service (Damkarmat) at the Damkarmat Office OKU Regency, South Sumatra on Friday (2/2).

The assistance provided was in the form of 2 Pump Machine Units, 5 Nozzle Gun Units, and 5 Jet Nozzle Units. The aid was handed over directly symbolically through the SMBR CSR Unit to the Head of the OKU Regency Fire and Rescue Service, Aminilson.

SMBR’s Vice President of Corporate Secretary, Basthony Santri, said that the assistance provided was a form of SMBR’s CSR implementation, in an effort to support the sustainability of Damkarmat’s operations in carrying out its duties to protect the community from the threat of disasters, especially fire disasters because OKU is in a forest and land fire prone zone. This is also a form of anticipation in preparation for the frequently occurring forest and land fire conditions.

“We hope that this assistance can help increase the operational capacity of Damkarmat in OKU Regency and can be used as best as possible to help people experiencing disasters,” he stressed.

Meanwhile, the Head of Damkarmat, OKU Regency, expressed his gratitude to SMBR, whose assistance was very helpful in the availability and smooth operation of Damkarmat in OKU Regency.

“This assistance from Semen Baturaja is eagerly awaited and is useful for the community, where recently there have been very frequent fire and flood disasters caused by the high intensity of rain that occurred in OKU Regency,” he concluded. (*)
