Semen Baturaja Participates in SOE Goes to Campus at Sriwijaya State Polytechnic

PALEMBANG – PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (SMBR) as a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) also supports the implementation of BUMN Goes to Campus activities at the Sriwijaya State Polytechnic (Polsri), Palembang City on Thursday (13/7).
Also attended by Special Staff III to the Minister of BUMN Arya Sinulingga, Vice President of Human Resources & General Affairs of SMBR Fitria Margaretha and several other BUMN officials. During the BUMN Goes to Campus activity, a talkshow session was also held with experienced speakers in BUMN to equip students for a career world. This activity was greeted with enthusiasm from the Police students who attended.
The BUMN Goes to Campus program aims to introduce the activities and transformations that have been carried out by BUMN to students at various Indonesian universities as well as to inspire the younger generation to develop their talents.
In his presentation, Arya Sinulingga said that the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises, Erick Thohir had carried out various transformations in BUMN. One of the transformations is to provide broad opportunities for the younger generation to have careers in SOEs. This is evidenced by the BUMN Joint Recruitment program (“RBB”) and BUMN Talent Generation Internship (“Magenta”) program.
“The more young generations there are, the culture will change. Pak Erick provides opportunities for the younger generation to occupy strategic positions in BUMN because 30-40 percent of the economy in Indonesia is influenced by BUMN,” concluded Arya.
Arya further explained that the BUMN Joint Recruitment Program (RBB) is an opportunity for the younger generation to have careers in BUMN. “The key to success is that soft skills must be honed, must be disciplined in time management, expand networking, and gain experience,” added Arya.
Vice President of Human Resources & General Affair SMBR Fitria Margaretha explained that from 2018 to 2022, as many as 63 students have participated in the Certified Student Internship Program (PMMB) from various universities in Indonesia. “During the period from 2022 to July 2023, a total of 239 students have participated in industrial/internship/research/data collection practices at Semen Baturaja,” he added.
Apart from the talk show, SMBR together with 9 other BUMNs also opened a booth for this activity. The booth provides information about the company profile and organizes games with attractive prizes. In addition, internship opportunities are also given to students from the Indonesian National Police. (*)
