In Celebration of RI’s 78th Anniversary, Semen Baturaja Holds 17th Contest with Residents of Ring 1

PALEMBANG – In commemoration of the 78th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (SMBR) as a subsidiary of SIG held various 17’s competitions which were held in 3 Sites (Palembang, Panjang, and Baturaja ) which starts from 15 – 20 August 2023.

Various kinds of competitions were held, including competitions for cooking fried rice, making up with eyes closed, kicking balls with eggplant, eating crackers, putting pencils in bottles, dancing balloons and closing with a gap competition.

Participants were attended by Ring 1 residents and all SMBR personnel. The competition took place lively filled with laughter from the participants and the audience and the enthusiasm of the participants to win the competition.

Rian Alfiana Assega, Chair of the SMBR Sports and Arts Development Agency, who is also the chairman of the event organizer, explained that the competition was divided into four categories, namely competitions between employees, competitions between residents, and competitions between children and competitions between employees and residents. “The winners competed for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place titles in each category and were rewarded with attractive prizes of course,” said Rian.

M. Mu’ammar Syah Reza Senior Manager of Secretarial & Stakeholder Management of SMBR said that this competition was part of a national celebration that combined the spirit of independence and religion as well as collaboration between SMBR and Ring 1 residents.

“We invite Ring 1 residents as a form of appreciation for the role of Ring 1 residents in the development of the SMBR operational area, this is a form of corporate social responsibility in increasing collaboration and friendship between the community and the company,” said Reza.

Andi Irawan as a resident of Ring 1 Kertapati said he was happy with this 17s competition. “Thank you to SMBR for holding this competition, I hope that this activity will continue to be held every year,” he said.(*)
