JAKARTA – PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (SMBR) as a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) won the 2024 TOP CSR Awards from Top Business Magazine, at the 2024 TOP CSR Awards ceremony which was held at the Raffless Hotel, Jakarta on Wednesday ( 5/29).

SMBR succeeded in winning 2 award categories, namely TOP CSR Awards 2024 on #Star 4 and TOP Leader On CSR Commitment which was given to SMBR Main Director Suherman Yahya. The TOP Leader On CSR Commitment award was given to the Main Director of SMBR Suherman Yahya for the achievement of the company leadership’s high commitment in supporting complete systems, governance and successful implementation of CSR in the company.

Then the TOP CSR Awards 2024 with the title #Star 4, was achieved through the company’s CSR by prioritizing superior Environmental Social Responsibility (TJSL) programs that are effective and have a positive impact on stakeholders and the company.

The award was represented by Senior Manager of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) SMBR Gili April Braja who was accompanied by staff. Companies that receive this award are considered not only successful in running a business but also able to provide added value for sustainable business growth.

There are sustainable programs run by SMBR such as the Eco Café Program, which is a community economic empowerment program through one of Rumah BUMN Baturaja’s partners with the concept of paying for coffee using waste to support environmental preservation, then there is the Economic & Educational Bee Farm Program, namely utilizing empty community land for cultivation. Trigona honey bees or Clanceng are based on education and economics to become added value for society, as for the Decarbonation Program through the use of Alternative Fuel & Raw (AFR) in production activities to reduce carbon emissions.

JAKARTA – PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (SMBR) as a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) held an Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGMS) for Fiscal Year 2023 at The East Tower Mega Kuningan, Jakarta on Wednesday (29/ 5).

The company succeeded in maintaining positive performance in 2023, which was full of challenges for the national cement industry, by posting a net profit of IDR 121.57 billion or an increase of 57% compared to the 2022 period of IDR 77.3 billion. The meeting approved the distribution of dividends with a payout ratio of 20%, with a total cash dividend of IDR 24.31 billion, and the remaining 80% or IDR 97.26 billion designated as retained earnings.

This year’s dividend distribution increased compared to the previous year which amounted to IDR 18.96 billion. This shows the company’s commitment to continuing to provide added value to shareholders.

The company was able to record growth in total cement sales volume of 7.56% to 2.16 million tonnes above demand growth in the Southern Sumatra (Sumbagsel) region, which is the company’s main market, which grew by 1.8%.

Not only that, the company managed to record revenue throughout 2023 of IDR 2.04 trillion or an increase of 8% compared to last year’s period. In terms of EBITDA, it was recorded at IDR 484.87 billion or an increase of 13% compared to 2022 which amounted to IDR 430.45 billion.

SMBR President Director Suherman Yahya said the company succeeded in closing 2023 with various good achievements in terms of financial performance, production and sustainability.

“The achievement in 2023 certainly cannot be separated from the success of the company’s strategic initiatives through the SMBRGO45 efficiency program which started from 2020 to 2023. This program is the company’s flagship program to optimize costs in various sectors and apply best practices in operations so that it can achieve positive performance. “Not only that, the company continues to synergize and coordinate with Holding SIG as strategic manager and operational implementer of marketing and sales activities,” said Suherman.

Other meeting decisions

Apart from approving the distribution of dividends, the meeting also approved the Annual Report and Ratification of the Company’s Financial Report, Approval of the Board of Commissioners’ Supervisory Duties Report for the 2023 Fiscal Year, including Ratification of the restatement of the Consolidated Financial Report for the 2022 Fiscal Year and Ratification of the Financial Report of the Micro and Small Business Funding Program (PUMK) for the 2023 Financial Year as well as providing full repayment and release of responsibility (volledig acquit et de charge) to the Company’s Directors and Board of Commissioners for the management and supervision actions that have been carried out during the 2023 Financial Year.

Other decisions include approving the Determination of Salary/Honorarium along with Facilities and Allowances for the Company’s Directors and Board of Commissioners for the 2024 Financial Year, as well as Tantiem/Performance Incentives/Special Incentives for the Company’s Directors and Board of Commissioners for the Performance of the 2023 Financial Year and the Appointment of a Public Accounting Firm to audit the Financial Statements Company Consolidation for Fiscal Year 2024 and Financial Report for the Micro and Small Business Funding Program (PUMK) for Fiscal Year 2024.

The meeting also approved the Feasibility Study Discussion regarding additional business fields for the Company; regarding Article 3 Paragraph (2) of the Company’s Articles of Association with reference to and in accordance with Financial Services Authority Regulation Number 17/POJK.04/2020 concerning Material Transactions and Changes in Business Activities as well as Amendments to the Company’s Articles of Association.

Supporting the decarbonization program, the Company succeeded in reducing the intensity of carbon emissions (scope 1) from 587 kg CO2/ton cem eq in 2022 to 577 kg CO2/ton cem eq in 2023. Bantuan tersebut berupa paket sembako yang diserahkan kepada Pemerintah Kabupaten OKU untuk disalurkan oleh Badan Penanggulangan Bencana Daerah (BPBD) OKU.

Penyerahan bantuan dilakukan langsung oleh Senior Manager Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) PT Semen Baturaja Tbk, Gili Aprial Braja, kepada Penjabat (Pj) Bupati OKU Teddy Meilwansyah, dalam sebuah acara simbolis yang digelar di kantor Pemkab OKU.

“Kami berharap bantuan ini dapat meringankan beban para korban banjir dan membantu mereka dalam memenuhi kebutuhan sehari-hari,” ujar Gili Aprial Braja.

Sebagai informasi, banjir yang melanda Wilayah Kabupaten Ogan Komering Ulu terjadi akibat luapan Sungai Ogan yang terjadi pada Kamis (23/5) dini hari. Banjir merendam sejumlah kecamatan antara lain Kecamatan Ulu Ogan, Peninjauan, Semidang Aji, Lengkiti, Baturaja Timur, dan Baturaja Barat, dengan ketinggian air mencapai 1-2 meter.

Bencana banjir ini merupakan yang kedua kalinya setelah awal Mei lalu curah hujan yang tinggi menyebabkan banjir di beberapa titik di Kabupaten OKU.

PALEMBANG – PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (SMBR) as a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) succeeded in proving its commitment to supporting sustainability strategies by achieving the ISO 50001:2018 Energy Management Certificate (SMEn) from PT Sucofindo on Friday (17/5 ).

The certificate handover took place at the SMBR Head Office, Palembang City, South Sumatra Province, and was handed over directly by the Main Director of PT Sucofindo Jobi Triananda to the Main Director of SMBR Suherman Yahya and also witnessed by the Director of Operations of SMBR Muhammad Syafitri.

SMBR President Director Suherman Yahya said that this certificate was a form of the company’s commitment to supporting efficiency in energy use.

“This energy management certificate is a sign of Semen Baturaja’s commitment to using and utilizing energy more efficiently and more effectively, and it is hoped that it will also be an added value for our company in the future in facing competitive competition,” said Suherman.

“Through these programs, in 2023 SMBR succeeded in reducing the intensity of carbon emissions (scope 1) from 587 kg CO2/ton cem eq in 2022 to 577 kg CO2/ton cem eq because the company succeeded in reducing the clinker factor from 69.4% to 68.6% and increase the Thermal Substitution Rate (TSR)  value from 2.62% to 3.01%,” said Suherman.

BATURAJA – PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (SMBR) as a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) is again distributing aid to flood victims in Baturaja, Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) Regency which hit some time ago.

This time, SMBR distributed aid to flood victims affected in 6 sub-districts including Batu Kuning, Talang Jawa, Saung Naga, Air Gading, Sukajadi, and Tanjung Agung and residents in Baturaja, OKU District.

Each sub-district received assistance in the form of Rice, Noodles, Eggs, Tea, Coffee, Canned Fish, Mineral Water and Sugar with a total aid of IDR 32.1 million for 6 sub-districts. The local village head immediately received this assistance on Tuesday (14/5).

SMBR Vice President of Corporate Secretary, Hari Liandu stated that the distribution of this aid was a form of the company’s concern for the communities affected by the disaster. This basic food assistance is the second time it has been distributed to affected residents, after previously the company had also distributed clean water and pontoons. This flood has caused a number of areas in Baturaja to experience a clean water crisis.

PALEMBANG – In the midst of a contraction in domestic cement demand and global geopolitical dynamics, PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (SMBR) as a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) managed to record net income of IDR 406.5 billion in the first quarter of 2024.

SMBR Vice President of Corporate Secretary, Hari Liandu, said that net income during the first quarter of 2024 increased 6% compared to the net income for the first quarter of 2023 of IDR 383.2 billion. This net income growth was driven by an increase in cement sales volume which reached 7%, or 486,643 tons, compared to the record for the same period last year.

“This growth is thanks to the synergy of market and price management carried out with SIG as the parent company, helping SMBR maintain profitability. “Revenue from the derivative product business, namely white clay, recorded sales of IDR 3 billion,” said Hari.

However, the increase in fuel prices amidst global geopolitics triggered an increase in the Company’s cost of revenue, especially in production and distribution costs. In the midst of these challenges, the Company posted a Profit for the Period of IDR 5.07 billion.

Looking ahead, Hari Liandu said that SMBR remains optimistic that it can achieve solid company performance growth. Synergy with SIG as the parent company also provides encouragement for the company in managing markets and prices which contributes directly to improving company performance.

In synergy with SIG, SMBR also contributed to the National Strategic Project (PSN) by supplying cement for the construction of the Betung – Jambi Toll Road, part of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road section which connects South Sumatra and Jambi Provinces.

“The construction of this toll road will improve the economic sector and facilitate access and connectivity between the two provinces and maintain SMBR’s strategic role in National Infrastructure Development,” he said.
