Furthermore Daconi revealed three advantages of SMBR which are expected to be utilized optimally after synergizing with SIG. First, Semen Baturaja is in the middle of an energy barn, to be precise, coal. “Maybe we are the only cement company surrounded by coal sources. The positive impact, energy costs to be low. Especially coal,” he said.

In addition to rising energy costs—especially coal—the domestic market is also experiencing an oversupply of nearly 100 percent. The market situation is increasingly challenging following the entry of two new players. “I appreciate the management. Even though the conditions were tough, thank God, our performance was better than last year,” said Donny while giving a virtual speech.

According to him, the SIG-SMBR synergy is expected to generate new advantages which will ultimately boost the company’s performance. “Better market coverage, as well as more efficient production costs.
