Semen Baturaja Invites UMP Students to Become Reliable Facilitators Through Training of Junior Trainers

PALEMBANG – In an effort to develop the potential of Indonesia’s young generation, PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (SMBR) as a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) in collaboration with the Management Study Program of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Muhammadiyah University of Palembang (UMP) held Junior Human Resources Development (HR) Training of Trainer (ToT) Training on Saturday (25/11) in the KH Building Hall. This activity was officially opened by Deputy Dean I FEB Muhammadiyah University of Palembang Dr. Maftuhah Nurrahmi, S.E., M.Sc., and also attended by the Head of Management Study Program, Dr. Zaleha Trihandayani, S.E., M.Si., lecturer, and 157 students of the HR Management Study Program FEB Palembang Muhammadiyah University.

This activity presented speakers from SMBR including, Senior Manager Health Safety Environment Meriadi, Manager Health Safety M.A. Fatahillah Saban, Junior Health Safety Officer Rosiana TM and Imam Pratama Azi, Unit of Health Safety Staff Kheusvency Harnum and Moh. Herdy Ariansyah.

In his report, Dr. Zaleha Trihandayani, S.E., M.Sc., said that this training was attended by students of the HR Concentration Management Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, Muhammadiyah University of Palembang, who received competency theory material on Mastering Content, Mastering Self, Mastering Participant, and Student Practicing.

Meanwhile, in his speech, Meriadi expressed his gratitude to FEB UMP for involving SMBR in this training with the aim of supporting students to develop their potential to become competent human resources through ToT Junior.

“We are very enthusiastic about collaborating with UMP students in providing this Junior ToT training. “We are confident that through this training students can develop their skills, presentation, communication and leadership skills to become reliable facilitators who will be ready to contribute to various activities in the future,” said Meriadi.

SMBR Vice President of Corporate Secretary Basthony Santri added that as a company that supports the achievement of SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals), SMBR continues to provide a forum for employees to hold sharing sessions with the community, one of which is through training for students. “This training is led directly by experienced tutors from among SMBR employees.”

“This is in line with the sustainability strategy implemented by SMBR and SIG, namely creating value for employees and the community,” said Basthony.

On the same occasion, Dr. Maftuhah Nurrahmi, S.E., M.Si., added that SMBR’s involvement and willingness in this training really helped the Faculty of Economics and Business, Muhammadiyah University of Palembang in implementing HR competencies through ToT Junior. “This collaboration is very helpful in developing competencies for students because it is delivered by practitioners who have direct experience in the world of work,” he said.(*)
