Semen Baturaja Provides CSR Assistance Worth IDR 150 Million to Fish Cultivation Groups in OKU Regency



BATURAJA – PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (SMBR) as a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) continues to show its commitment to caring for the community and the environment. One of them is by providing assistance to the fish farming community in Marta Jaya Village, Lubuk Raja District, Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) Regency with total assistance of IDR 150 million.
The delivery of aid was handed over directly by the Senior Manager of CSR SMBR Gili Aprial Braja together with the Acting Regent of OKU H. Teddy Meilwansyah and accompanied by the OKU Forkopimda and related parties on Tuesday (28/11) at Pokdakan Karya Mandiri Jaya, Marta Jaya Village.
The assistance distributed by SMBR’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) includes assistance to magot cultivation groups amounting to Rp. 52,500,000.- for the construction of maggot cultivation houses and supporting facilities, the silk worm cultivation group amounting to 52,500,000.- for the construction of silk worm houses and supporting facilities and the snakehead fish cultivation group Rp. 45,000,000.- for the construction of drilled wells and swimming pool facilities.
Senior Manager of CSR SMBR Gili explained that the assistance through the BUMN TJSL Program was a form of SMBR’s concern for the community in OKU. “At the same time supporting and synergizing with the OKU Regency Government. “There are sustainable priority programs here that have a direct impact,” he said.
SMBR is ready to support OKU Regional Government programs, especially those that are sustainable. “It’s not over. “God willing, if this goes forward SMBR will continue to support and provide assistance in other forms,” said Gili.
According to Gili, SMBR wants to have a fish farming location like the one in Marta Jaya Village. So, in the future SMBR can invite the Ring I community to carry out cultivation as is done in Marta Jaya Village. “Later we will make it in our area (SMBR). This already has experts. Later, we will facilitate it by holding training. “So, the people of Ring I can learn,” he concluded.
SMBR Vice President of Corporate Secretary Basthony Santri added that this assistance is in line with the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) and ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) principles implemented by SMBR and SIG holding, namely encouraging sustainable solutions and innovation.
Meanwhile, the Acting (Pj) Regent of OKU H. Teddy Meilwansyah appreciated the assistance provided by Semen Baturaja for the development of fish cultivation in Marta Jaya Village. “Thank you to Semen Baturaja who continues to consistently help the OKU community,” concluded Teddy. (*)
