BATURAJA – PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (SMBR), a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) together with the Ogan Komering Ulu District Attorney’s Office (OKU District Attorney’s Office) have agreed to a cooperation agreement on handling legal issues in the Civil and State Administration (Datun) Field.

The signing of the cooperation agreement or Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two parties took place at the Wisma Ganesha Hall, Baturaja, OKU Regency, South Sumatra on Tuesday (30/7). The agreement was made by the Director (Finance & HR Function) of SMBR Rahmat Hidayat and the Head of the OKU District Attorney’s Office Choirun Parapat.

In addition, the event was also attended by the Director of Operations of SMBR Muhammad Syafitri and Staff and the Head of the Datun Section of the OKU District Attorney’s Office Ajie Martha, the Heads of Sections, Sub-Section Heads and State Attorneys at the Ogan Komering Ulu District Attorney’s Office.

Director (Finance & HR Function) SMBR Rahmat Hidayat explained that this work agreement is an extension of the same work agreement memorandum as before which aims to provide legal assistance, in the form of legal assistance as a mediator/facilitator in legal problems faced by other parties concerning civil and state administrative cases.

“Alhamdulillah, today the cooperation between Semen Baturaja and the OKU District Attorney’s Office has been implemented. Semen Baturaja is under SIG and has entered its 50th year. We express our deepest gratitude to the District Attorney and the Team. With good cooperation, steps to improve governance and assets, please help in reorganizing so that the target can be achieved properly. Together with the OKU District Attorney’s Office, we hope to be able to complete the Semen Baturaja target,” he concluded

Meanwhile, the Head of the OKU District Attorney’s Office Choirun Parapat said that this cooperation is an initial step between the two parties to synergize in terms of improving quality and optimizing performance and not only as anticipation, but as a legal umbrella if there are legal problems in the Datun field.

“The signing of this MoU is an implementation of the cooperation that has been carried out by the Ministry of SOEs of the Republic of Indonesia with the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic of Indonesia as an effort to synergize in order to improve performance in providing the best service for the Community and also help improve governance to be more transparent and accountable. We hope that through this cooperation, it can further increase the effectiveness of resolving legal problems in the civil and administrative fields, both internally and externally,” he said. (*)

BATURAJA – PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (SMBR) as a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk hosted the Onsite Meeting of the SIG Group Operations Directorate which took place from 24-25 July 2024 at the Wisma Ganesha Hall, Baturaja, Ogan Komering Ulu Regency (OKU), South Sumatra. The Onsite Meeting is a routine agenda held every year which is attended by all SIG subsidiaries in the cement industry or Operating Company (Opco).

The event with the theme “Strengthening Teamwork to Strive the Extra Miles” was attended by SIG Operations Director Reni Wulandari and SMBR Directors including President Director Suherman Yahya, Director (Finance & HR Function) Rahmat Hidayat and Operations Director Muhammad Syafitri as the host and all Operations Directors throughout Opco.

In her remarks, SIG Operations Director Reni Wulandari said that this activity was held to review and evaluate the programs and achievements of the SIG Group Operations Directorate. This step aims to ensure that the company’s targets can be achieved. “This activity is an important opportunity to evaluate operational performance and ensure that every target that has been set can be achieved optimally,” he explained.

In addition, there is a Safety Observation Tour (SOT) activity to the Baturaja Factory to increase awareness of safety, reduce the risk of work accidents, and encourage continuous improvement in safety aspects in the workplace. Afterwards, the signing of the Safety Commitment Board was carried out which is a commitment from all subsidiaries to continue to maintain work safety and improve operational quality.

The activity was also filled with sharing sessions from each Opco in the form of improvement experiences, cement factory technology updates and introduction of interlocking brick innovations. It is hoped that this session can inspire and share experiences from one factory to another.

On the same occasion, SMBR as the host, SMBR Operations Director Muhammad Syafitri hopes to continue to maintain the achievement of existing targets. “We hope that through solid collaboration and synergy between all teams, SIG Group can continue to achieve and even exceed the targets that have been set. BATURAJA – PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (SMBR) as a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) held a Disaster Emergency Response Training which was attended by 30 participants from ring 1 residents. This event took place at the Talang Jawa Village Office, West Baturaja District, Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) Regency, South Sumatra, aims to be a disaster management and mitigation effort, especially when fires occur.

The training which was held on Wednesday (17/7) involved residents of Talang Jawa Village as participants. SMBR’s Safety, Health, & Environment Unit collaborates with the OKU Fire Department (Damkar), OKU Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) and Rumah BUMN Baturaja. Rumah BUMN Baturaja itself acts as a BUMN Task Force for disaster mitigation and response.

This event was attended by Senior Manager of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) SMBR Gili Aprial Braja, Head of Emergency and Logistics Division of BPBD OKU Mulyadi, Disaster Management Manager of BPBD OKU Gunalfi Uniba, Head of Prevention Division of OKU Regency Fire Department (Damkar) Yatino, Fire Department Personnel OKU Andang Regency Duwi Harmoko and Afriadi and Talang Jawa Village Head Paisal Reza

Gili conveyed that this extension training & emergency response training for disaster management for Ring 1 residents is a manifestation of Semen Baturaja’s commitment to increasing community awareness and preparedness for the dangers of disasters. “The residents of Talang Java were very enthusiastic about taking part in this training, because they were immediately given educational material for dealing with disasters and a simulation of how to extinguish a fire by experts from the OKU Fire Department,” he said.

He explained that in this training, residents gain practical knowledge and skills in dealing with disaster emergency situations, starting from how to put out fires using a cloth dampened due to a gas seal leak, how to use a light fire extinguisher (APAR) to the correct evacuation technique if a disaster occurs.

“This training is an important step in mitigating and managing disasters, especially when a fire occurs and we hope that this training can provide real benefits for the residents of Talang Java and its surroundings,” explained Gili.

Apart from that, Mulyadi said that cooperation between BPBD OKU, Semen Baturaja and other related agencies was very important to strengthen the community’s ability to face disasters. “We appreciate this initiative and hope that similar activities can continue to be carried out in a sustainable manner,” he concluded.

Paisal also said something similar. “This training is very beneficial for residents, increasing their knowledge and preparedness in dealing with disaster situations. “Hopefully activities like this will continue,” he said.

Previously, Semen Baturaja also held Fire Extinguishing Training and Simulation (Fire Drill) on Tuesday (16/7) which took place in the Wisma Ganesha Hall for power experts and employees. BATURAJA – PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (SMBR) as a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) held fire drill training which was attended by 130 employees and power experts. This activity took place at the Wisma Ganesha Hall, Baturaja, Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) Regency, Wednesday (16/7/2024), with the aim of training preparedness and abilities in dealing with fire emergency situations.

The training, which involved the SMBR Safety, Health & Environment Unit in collaboration with the OKU District Fire Department (Damkar), was attended by SMBR Main Director Suherman Yahya and SMBR Plant Vice President of Technology Eko David Irawan. The speakers invited included the Head of the Prevention Division of the OKU District Service, Yatino, OKU District Fire and Rescue Personnel Andang Duwi Harmoko and Afriadi.

SMBR President Director Suherman Yahya on that occasion emphasized the importance of this training as part of the company’s commitment to maintaining the occupational safety and health of all employees. “Work safety is Semen Baturaja’s top priority. “Through this training, we hope that all participants can understand the correct evacuation procedures and be able to face emergency situations calmly and appropriately,” said Suherman.

This activity is part of SMBR’s efforts to support the Safety Promotion and Safety Refreshment aspects, as well as mitigating the risk of danger in the workplace to achieve Zero Accident. Apart from that, this training is also one of the company’s efforts to fulfill the Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Safety Performance, with a target of achieving 0 (zero) for the Number of Fire Accidents (NoFA).

Yatino, a representative from the Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) Fire Department (Damkar), shared material and experience when handling fires. “We really appreciate Semen Baturaja’s initiative in holding this training. Good preparedness and fire handling skills are very important to minimize the risk and impact of fire incidents,” he explained.

Fire drill training material includes theory about the causes and prevention of fires, to direct practice in using fire extinguishers and evacuation simulations. With this training, it is hoped that all participants will be better prepared and responsive in dealing with fire emergency situations in their work environment.

PALEMBANG – In collaboration with the Management Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Muhammadiyah University of Palembang (UMP), PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (SMBR) as a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) held Occupational Safety and Health (K3) training at KH Building Hall. Faqih Usman, UMP, Saturday (6/7). This activity is carried out to fulfill the competencies in the Diploma Companion Certificate (SKPI).

A number of SMBR employees were asked to be resource persons, including Senior Manager of Health Safety & Environment, Meriadi, Manager of Mining Safety & Environment M.A. Fatahilla Saban, Health & Safety Baturaja Junior Officer Imam Pratama Azi, Risk Policy & Analytics Junior Officer Rosiana TM, and Health & Safety Baturaja Admin Kheusvency Harnum.

Head of Management Study Program FEB UMP, Dr. Zaleha Trihandayani, S.E., M.Si., said that this activity was attended by 184 Human Resources Concentration students. This K3 training aims to increase student competency in the field of work safety in the form of SKPI. SKPI documents are an added value for students when entering the world of work.

Meanwhile, Senior Manager of Health Safety & Environment SMBR, Meriadi said that the company’s collaboration with UMP has been running for four years. “Through this activity, industry practitioners such as SMBR can contribute to improving student competency. “Because of that, we are very grateful to have been trusted by UMP,” he said.

This UMP Electrical Engineering alumnus added that K3 training has become a joint commitment between the industrial world and UMP with the aim of preparing graduates who are ready for a career in the world of work. “The knowledge that results from learning on campus must continue to be implemented in order to hone the soft skills that students have,” emphasized Meriadi.

Deputy Dean 1 FEB UMP Dr. Maftuhah Nurrahmi, S.E., M.Si, when opening the activity, advised the participants to gain a lot of experience and knowledge in this training. “Because this activity is carried out directly by K3 practitioners from the company, and of course it will be important capital when entering the world of work later,” he said.
