National K3 Month Blood Donation Action, Semen Baturaja Donates 123 Bags of Blood to PMI

PALEMBANG – In commemoration of National Occupational Safety and Health (K3) Month 2024, PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (SMBR) as a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) collaborated with the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) to hold a Blood Donation event. simultaneously at three SMBR site locations, namely Palembang, Baturaja and Panjang on Friday (19/1).

SMBR Vice President of Corporate Secretary, Basthony Santri, explained that this blood donation action is one of a series of National K3 Month activities which are carried out every year. This blood donation activity is a form of company concern for the need for blood stock at the local PMI

“This humanitarian action, which was participated in by employees, subsidiaries and affiliates, has produced 123 blood bags from all SMBR sites, consisting of 52 blood bags from Baturaja, 40 blood bags in Palembang, and 31 blood bags in Panjang,” said Basthony.

Meanwhile, Senior Manager of Health, Safety, & Environment SMBR, Meriadi said that blood donation not only helps fellow humans in need but also provides health benefits.

“Blood donation not only provides benefits for blood recipients, but also has a positive impact on the donor’s own health, such as maintaining heart health, increasing red blood cell production and so on,” he said.

One of the SMBR employees who took part, Dwitya Ariesta, revealed that she regularly invites her husband to participate in blood donation activities.

“My husband and I quite regularly donate blood because after donating blood, our bodies feel healthy and fresh, especially since this is the first blood donation this year. We also feel happy to be able to make a positive contribution to helping others,” said Dwi.

Apart from that, SMBR was also awarded by PMI Palembang City with the “2024 Period Award Charter” as appreciation for its participation in the Blood Donation Social Activity for the Benefits of Humanity.” (*)
