Strengthening K3 Awareness, Semen Baturaja Holds Safety Observation Tour

BATURAJA – On the momentum of National Occupational Safety and Health (K3) Month 2024, PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (SMBR), a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG), held a Safety Observation Tour (SOT) at the Baturaja Factory, Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) Regency, South Sumatra, on Monday (22/1).
This activity was attended by employees, including SMBR Directors who also participated, including Main Director Suherman Yahya, Operations Director Muhammad Syafitri, and Director (Finance & HR Function) Rahmat Hidayat.
SMBR Main Director, Suherman Yahya, explained that the aim of this SOT activity was to invite participants to actively identify potential risks and provide recommendations for improvements to improve safety conditions in the work environment. The results of this identification will later be uploaded via the SHE SIG application for K3 reporting.
Suherman Yahya emphasized that the effectiveness of company programs cannot be achieved without direct supervision in the field. Therefore, it is necessary to increase observation of potentially dangerous actions and conditions.
“Occupational Safety and Health is a top priority for SMBR. “Through this SOT activity, we want to ensure that K3 awareness is not only limited to formal policy, but also becomes a culture implemented by every individual in the company,” said Suherman.
SMBR Operations Director, Muhammad Syafitri added that this SOT is not just a routine activity, but is also a real form of SMBR to continue to improve the quality of the work environment for the sake of company operations. By involving all related parties, it is hoped that a safe, healthy and productive work environment can be created.
“Of course, the ultimate goal of this SOT is that all operational activities in the company run smoothly and safely and avoid work accidents,” he explained. (*)
