Commemorating National K3 Month 2024, Semen Baturaja Holds Apple and Various Competitions

PALEMBANG – PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (SMBR) as a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) is again holding National Occupational Safety and Health (K3) Month. National K3 Month is celebrated every year, starting from January 12 to February 12, with the main aim of increasing awareness and compliance with K3 norms in the work environment.

The theme for this year’s National K3 Month is “Cultivate K3, Healthy and Safe Work to Maintain Business Sustainability.” Just like the previous year, the implementation of National K3 Month began with a roll call which was held simultaneously at 3 SMBR site locations, namely Palembang, Panjang and Baturaja on Wednesday (17/1) which was attended by all SMBR employees at each site.

Apart from Apple, SMBR also holds various K3 activities including Watching Together (Nobar) Opening of National K3 Month by SIG, Work Space Competition with the Best Safety Equipment, K3 Webinar, Blood Donation Activity, Safety Contact/Safety Pause Video Competition, Catch The Safety Moment Competition , K3 Poster Competition, 1st Rank Competition, 30 Day’s Lose Weight Challenge Competition.

Not only that, SMBR expressed its appreciation to the 6 Fire Department personnel who have been dedicated to helping maintain safety and security in extinguishing fires in the company environment and surrounding community areas.

SMBR Operations Director, Muhammad Syafitri, in his opening speech at the National K3 Month Ceremony in Baturaja, said that implementing K3 is a shared responsibility, requiring the active role of all parties.

“Don’t let fatal incidents or work accidents, no matter how small, happen. Conduct Safety Talks every day to remind workers about risks and dangers in the work area. With efforts like these, everyone becomes aware of the importance of Occupational Safety and Health (K3) in the work environment. Remember, K3 is our shared responsibility!,” he said.

Apart from that, the Main Director of SMBR, Suherman Yahya, added that the commemoration of K3 month is a momentum to remind the importance of K3, in order to create a workplace that is safe, efficient and productive.

“We invite and encourage all Semen Baturaja employees to implement the Occupational Safety and Health Management System (SMK3) consistently and must follow it together, in order to realize increased work productivity,” he said. (*)
