Semen Baturaja Wins Two Zero Accident Awards from the South Sumatra Provincial Government

PALEMBANG – The success and consistency of PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (SMBR) as a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) in implementing Occupational Safety and Health (K3) in all operational lines, has resulted in positive appreciation. SMBR succeeded in winning two Zero Accident Awards at the South Sumatra Provincial Government (Sumsel Provincial Government) in 2024.

The award was handed over directly by the Deputy Minister of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemnaker RI) Afriansyah Noor who was accompanied by Deliar Rizqon as Head of the South Sumatra Province Manpower and Transmigration Service to the Senior Manager of Secretarial & Stakeholder Management SMBR Pramaja Gusnady, which coincided with the National K3 Month Apple Ceremony. 2024 South Sumatra Province at the Griya Agung Courtyard, Palembang City on Friday (8/3).

SMBR received two awards for its achievements in implementing the 2024 K3 Program, especially in SMBR’s two operational areas, namely the Cement Milling and Bagging Factory in Palembang City and the Baturaja Factory located in Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) Regency.

In his speech, the Deputy Minister of the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower expressed his hopes to all parties in implementing the K3 program. “I hope that all parties will participate in ensuring that the national K3 program and strategy can run effectively. “The central government, regional governments, trade unions and other potential parties are also obliged to pay attention and encourage K3 to be implemented effectively,” he hoped.

Pramaja expressed his thanks to the Province of South Sumatra and the Ministry of Manpower for the awards received. “We would like to thank you very much for this award given by the Province of South Sumatra. “This award is proof of the company’s consistency in implementing K3 values and the K3 Management System which is followed by all employees,” he said.

Meanwhile, Senior Manager of Health, Safety & Environment SMBR Meriadi added that SMBR always implements K3 aspects in all business lines to create a safe and comfortable work environment. “In improving K3 services in the company, SMBR has two main programs, namely the Safety Observation System and Baturaja Risk Containment, both of these programs are to reduce potential dangers that exist in all SMBR work areas and of course by implementing mandatory laws and regulations related to SMBR,” he added.
