Semen Baturaja Wins The Best Execution Winner in Cement Industry Award at the 2025 SPEx2 Award Event

JAKARTA — PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (SMBR) as a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) has again recorded a proud achievement by winning the Best Execution Winner in Cement Industry award at the Strategy into Performance Execution Excellence (SPEx2) Award 2025. This event was organized by GML Performance Consulting together with KONTAN Business & Investment Media as a form of appreciation for the company’s success in executing business strategies effectively, measurably, and sustainably.
This award was received directly by SMBR’s Vice President of Corporate Secretary, Hari Liandu, at the award ceremony held at Le Meridien Hotel, Jakarta, on Thursday (26/6).
“This award is real proof of the commitment of all Semen Baturaja employees in carrying out a comprehensive and consistent transformation. The strategy we implement is not just a plan on paper, but is carried out in a disciplined manner with an orientation towards achieving results and sustainability,” said Hari Liandu.
Hari explained that the company’s positive performance cannot be separated from the implementation of a number of key strategies such as cost leadership through the SMBRGO45 program, product and service diversification, debt refinancing, supply chain and procurement optimization, and human resource development. The synergy of all these strategies is the main foundation in strengthening SMBR’s competitiveness and business resilience.
This achievement was also driven by the full support of SIG as the parent company. SIG plays an important role in strengthening SMBR’s strategic direction, including in accelerating digital transformation, operational efficiency, and market expansion. “We greatly appreciate the support from SIG which actively assists SMBR in strengthening governance, innovation, and HR development. This synergy is an important element in the success of our strategy,” added Hari.
The results of this strategic execution are reflected in SMBR’s performance achievements in the first quarter of 2025. Amidst pressure from the national cement industry which recorded a decline in demand of 7.4%, SMBR actually managed to record a 10% growth in sales volume to 533,337 tons. Revenue increased 22% to Rp527.82 billion, and net profit jumped sharply by 864% to Rp48.96 billion. EBITDA also grew significantly by 62% to Rp130.08 billion.
Contribution from white clay products as part of business diversification also showed encouraging results with sales volume growth more than doubling to 9,125 tons, jumping 104% compared to the same period last year of 4,468 tons.
The SPEx2 Award assesses the success of an organization in executing strategies through a systematic, structured, and results-oriented approach. The assessment aspects include leadership, strategic governance, performance achievement, and sustainability of the programs being run.
By winning this award, Semen Baturaja has further established itself as an adaptive and progressive company in responding to industry challenges, and continues to make real contributions to national economic development and growth. (*)
