Semen Baturaja CEO Awarded Indonesia’s Top Green Leaders 2024

JAKARTA – PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (SMBR) as a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) received the Indonesia’s Top Green Leaders Award 2024 which took place at The Sultan Hotel & Residence, Jakarta on Tuesday (30/7).

This award was won thanks to the company’s commitment to supporting environmentally friendly and sustainable business practices. The event organized by Warta Ekonomi carried the theme “Green Orientation and Sustainability Initiatives with Progressive Movements” and awarded SMBR President Director Suherman Yahya as the Indonesia Green Leader for Green Orientation in Strengthening Green Business through Environmentally Friendly Innovation” in the Basic and Chemical Industry category. The award was received by SMBR’s Manager of General Affairs Jakarta Rena Nur Kumalasari.

SMBR President Director Suherman Yahya expressed his pride in this achievement. “This award is not only mine, but also belongs to all Semen Baturaja people who have worked hard and are committed to preserving the environment. We will continue to innovate to run a sustainable business.” Semen Baturaja has implemented various green initiatives in its operations. The implementation of the latest technology in the production process is able to reduce carbon emissions significantly. In addition, the use of renewable energy and increasing energy efficiency in daily operations are part of the company’s efforts to protect the environment.

“The implementation of an efficient and environmentally friendly waste management system, including recycling production waste into alternative raw materials, is also the company’s main focus in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),” said Suherman. (*)
