Semen Baturaja Celebrates 51st Anniversary, Distributes IDR 715.1 Million in Aid to the Community

BATURAJA – PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (SMBR), a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG), held a social gathering to celebrate its 51st anniversary at Ganesha Arena in Baturaja, Ogan Komering Ulu Regency (OKU), South Sumatra on Friday (November 14th). The celebration, themed “Energizing Growth, Building Harmony,” was warm and lively, and served as an important momentum for the company to continue strengthening collaboration and togetherness in facing future industry challenges.
The event was attended by SMBR’s Board of Commissioners, including President Commissioner Inosentius Samsul, Independent Commissioner Chowadja Sanova, and Independent Commissioner Feryzal Adham, as well as members of the SMBR Board of Directors, including President Director Suherman Yahya, Director of Operations Taufik, and Director of Finance & Human Resources Rahmat Hidayat.
Also in attendance were the Second Chairman of the OKU Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD), Parwanto; the Assistant to the Regional Head of the South Sumatra High Prosecutor’s Office, Chairul Fauzi; and the Head of the General Crimes Section of the OKU District Attorney’s Office, Wahyudi Barnad; the Chief Justice of the OKU District Court, Elvin Andrian; the First Deputy Chairman of the South Sumatra BAZNAS, Kiagus Aminnuddin Fauzi; the Rector of Baturaja University, Lindawati; and members of the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda), the OKU Regency Government, and other invited guests.
In his remarks, SMBR President Director Suherman Yahya stated that the 51-year journey has laid an important foundation for SMBR to continue moving forward and face the future with optimism.
“51 years has been a meaningful journey, but our journey doesn’t stop here. The challenges ahead are increasingly complex, and we must face them through synergy, innovation, and transformation. Let us use this 51st anniversary as a starting point to strengthen our spirit of togetherness, expand collaboration, and deepen our commitment to building a stronger, more competitive, and more sustainable future for Semen Baturaja,” he said.
Suherman also emphasized the company’s commitment to the community. “As a form of social responsibility on this joyous occasion, PT Semen Baturaja Tbk also distributed basic food packages and educational assistance to children around the company’s operational area. We hope this small step will foster a spirit of learning and open up opportunities for a brighter future for the nation’s future generations,” he added.
To celebrate its 51st anniversary, SMBR distributed social assistance totaling Rp715.1 million. This assistance consisted of Rp515.1 million in educational assistance provided through the Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program, the South Sumatra BAZNAS (National Azis) program, and the Semen Baturaja Employees’ Wives Association (IIKSB) to 392 students, from elementary, junior high, and high school levels, to universities. Furthermore, SMBR also provided basic food packages worth Rp200 million to 400 Semen Baturaja retirees as a token of our concern and appreciation for their service.
