Proof of Continuous Consistency, Semen Baturaja Again Wins 2 Awards at the 2025 TOP CSR Awards

JAKARTA – PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (SMBR) as a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG), has once again proven its commitment to implementing integrated and sustainable social responsibility practices by winning two awards at the TOP CSR Awards 2025 event organized by TopBusiness Magazine.
SMBR won the TOP CSR Awards 2025 #Star 4 and TOP Leader on CSR Commitment 2025 which were awarded to SMBR’s President Director, Suherman Yahya. Both awards were received by the Manager of General Affairs of SMBR Jakarta Representative, Rena Nur Kumalasari, who was present representing the President Director at the award ceremony held at the Dian Ballroom – Hotel Raffles Jakarta, Ciputra World, Kuningan, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (11/6).
The TOP Leader on CSR Commitment award is a form of appreciation for Suherman Yahya’s leadership and dedication in encouraging the implementation of CSR programs that are integrated with sustainable business growth strategies.
“This award is a real manifestation of all SMBR people in implementing CSR which is not only symbolic, but is part of a sustainable growth strategy that has a real impact on society,” said Suherman.
This achievement also strengthens SMBR’s consistency in implementing corporate social responsibility. At the same event last year, SMBR also won a similar award, which signifies the sustainability and improvement in the quality of CSR programs from year to year.
With the theme “CSR for Sustainable Business Growth and Asta Cita Government Programs”, this event was attended by more than 400 participants from various national companies. The assessment was based on the alignment of the CSR program with sustainable business strategies, social contributions, and the implementation of the ISO 26000:2010 standard on Social Responsibility.
In its implementation, SMBR has a number of superior Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) programs, including the Eco Café Program – the ‘Ngopi Payar Pakai Sampah’ initiative which allows people to exchange plastic waste for coffee, as an effort to educate and manage community-based waste. This program collaborates with SMBR’s fostered MSMEs, namely Ngopi Kuday, as a form of empowerment of local business actors in the sustainability value chain.
In addition, there is the Economic & Education Bee Farm Program, which aims to increase community independence through education and economic-based trigona bee cultivation training. This program has been successfully cultivated in Laya Village, and has now been replicated to Pusar Village, as a form of expanding the impact and sustainability of the program.
SMBR is also active in distributing various forms of social assistance such as for people with disabilities, poverty alleviation in South Sumatra, health support, infrastructure development, to strengthening the value of tolerance between religious communities.
All of these programs are in line with Asta Cita Number 8, which encourages the creation of a harmonious life with the environment, nature, and culture and strengthens tolerance to create a just and prosperous society.
“In the future, SMBR will continue to expand the scope and quality of CSR programs so that they are increasingly relevant to the needs of the community, and in line with sustainable development goals,” he added.
This success shows that SMBR is not only focused on business achievements, but is also present as a development agent that has a positive and sustainable impact on society and the environment. (*)
