End of Year, Semen Baturaja Holds Last Cement Delivery Event in 2024 and First in 2025

BATURAJA – PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (SMBR) as a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG), closed 2024 by carrying out the last cement delivery activity this year and the first delivery for 2025. The activity, which was held on Tuesday (31/12) at the SMBR Office in Baturaja, is a symbol of the company’s optimism in welcoming the new year with new enthusiasm.

This activity was marked by the bagging of the last cement in 2024 and the first in 2025, as well as the symbolic signing of the cement packaging by the SMBR Board of Directors, namely President Director Suherman Yahya, Director of Operations Muhammad Syafitri and Director (Finance & HR Function) Rahmat Hidayat.

In his remarks, SMBR President Director Suherman Yahya expressed his gratitude for the company’s achievements during 2024.

“2024 was a year full of challenges, however, we managed to maintain stable performance and record various achievements thanks to the dedication and extraordinary synergy of all SMBR people,” said Suherman.

Welcoming 2025, Suherman emphasized the importance of strategic steps to face the increasingly challenging economic challenges and market dynamics, by creating more opportunities that will strengthen the company’s position.

“2025 is an opportunity to strengthen SMBR’s role in meeting market needs while making a real contribution to national development. We are committed to continuing to support government programs through sustainable development and playing an active role in national strategic projects that drive economic progress and community welfare,” he added.

As part of its commitment to sustainability, SMBR also continues to focus on encouraging the use of green cement, such as innovative and environmentally friendly PCC (Portland Composite Cement), as well as increasing non-cement products such as white clay to support national food security.

By September 2024, SMBR has succeeded in reducing carbon emissions to 567.4 kgCO2/ton CEM from 577 kgCO2/ton CEM in 2023. This achievement is supported by the use of alternative fuels such as sludge oil waste, spent bleaching earth (SBE), expired diapers, and used oil, which increased the TSR index to 3.22% from 3.01%. In addition, the efficiency of clinker use through alternative raw materials such as FABA has succeeded in reducing the slag factor to 67.5% from 68.6% in the previous year.
