Semen Baturaja Wins Five Awards at the 29th–2025 TKMPN, Strengthening Commitment to Innovation and Increasing Productivity

BATAM – PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (SMBR), a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG), once again achieved impressive national success by winning five awards at the 29th–2025 National Quality and Productivity Work Meeting (TKMPN), held from November 24–28, 2025, at the Harmoni One & Convention Hotel, Batam.

This annual event, involving approximately 2,400 participants from 223 companies, is a collaboration between Wahana Kendali Mutu (WKM) and the Indonesian Quality and Productivity Management Association (AMMPI), which consistently serves as a platform for national companies to promote innovation, quality improvement, and productivity.

In this year’s competition, SMBR won two Platinum awards through Team Si Mbah with its innovative balancing method based on existing tools and Power Apps, and Team Locr Box with its innovative digitalization of weighing documents.

In addition, three Gold awards were won by the Beaker Team for digitizing production quality reports, the Mover Team for their Movable Hopper innovation to increase white clay production capacity, and the Musi Team for their innovation in efficient unloading of cement sacks using pallets. These achievements confirm that SMBR’s operational innovation continues to develop and has a tangible impact on improving the efficiency and quality of the production process.

Tauffiqurahman, Senior Manager of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Head of the SMBR Innovation Team, expressed his appreciation for the hard work of the entire team. “Winning these five awards is proof that the culture of innovation at Semen Baturaja continues to strengthen. The innovation teams are able to present relevant and effective solutions that directly contribute to the company’s operational efficiency,” he said.

He also emphasized that strengthening a culture of continuous improvement is the foundation of every innovation within the company. “Through routine annual events like the SMBR Innovation Award, we encourage employees to deliver sustainable innovations that impact performance improvement. SMBR also actively participates in the SIG Group Innovation Award, organized by our parent company, SIG, so that our best innovations can compete not only at the holding company level, but also at national and international levels,” Tauffiqurahman emphasized.

Meanwhile, Rizki Wijayanto, a representative of the Platinum-winning Si Mbah Team from SMBR’s Maintenance Department, expressed his pride in this achievement. Known as one of SMBR’s innovative talents, Rizki previously achieved international success as a champion at the 2022 International Quality & Productivity Convention (IQPC), making him a seasoned innovator in quality and productivity competitions.

“This award is a huge motivation for us to continue seeking new ways to improve process efficiency in the field. The innovations we develop arise from daily operational challenges, and we are grateful that these solutions have proven to provide real benefits to the company,” he said.

This achievement further strengthens Semen Baturaja’s position as part of the SIG Group, which continues to drive sustainable innovation to enhance the competitiveness of the national cement industry. (*)
