Semen Baturaja Getting Green Industry Award 2016
Jakarta – December 20, 2016, was held at the Ministry of Industry, PT Semen Baturaja (Persero) Tbk was awarded the highest level or a level 5 for Baturaja plant, level 4 for Panjang plant and Palembang plant.
This award was given by Indonesian Minister of Industry Mr. Airlangga Hartanto to President Director of PT Semen Baturaja (Persero) Tbk Mr. Pamudji Rahardjo, Director of Production and development Mr. Agus Wahyudin, Head of the Operations Department Mr. Marsidi Marsono and Head of Palembang Plant Mr. Kms. Mascik Asyik.
Green Industry Awards is an annual program of the Ministry of Industry, which aims to provide motivation to the industrial companies in order to apply the principles of Green Industry in its production processes. Ratings are divided into three categories, namely the Large Industry, Industrial Medium and Small Industries. The program is open to all entrepreneurs of national industry.
The verification and assessment carried out by the Technical Committee and the Advisory Council emanating from the government, universities, research institutions and other related institutions. In general, the assessment criteria are based on three main points. First, the production process which includes the production efficiency, the use of material inputs, energy, water, process technology, human resources, and working environment in the production process. Second the performance of waste management which includes reduction in CO2 emissions (large scale industries) and environmental quality of the raw material (medium scale industries). Green industry is an industry of environmentally sound industrial development that aligns with the preservation of the environment through more efficient and effective use of resources in a sustainable manner.
Green Industry award ceremony held after going through various stages of selection and verification by the Ministry of Industry based system that is evaluated regularly, including the company’s environmental management performance.
