BATURAJA – PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (SMBR) as a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) held an Occupational Safety and Health (K3) Seminar as part of the commemoration of the 2025 National K3 Month. This activity is real evidence of SMBR’s commitment to creating a safe, healthy, and productive work environment for all employees and work partners.

The seminar, which was held on Wednesday (5/2) at the Ganesha Arena SMBR, Baturaja, OKU Regency, South Sumatra, received an enthusiastic response from 265 participants, consisting of employees, work partners, and internship program students.

SMBR presented two expert speakers, namely the Head of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) of South Sumatra Province, Brigadier General Pol. Dr. Drs. Guruh Achmad Fadiyanto, M.H., and Senior Mining Inspector, Yoan Desianda, S.T. both shared insights on the implementation of Occupational Safety and Health (K3) and strategies for preventing the abuse of Narcotics, Psychotropics, and Addictive Substances (NAPZA) in the work environment.

Vice President of Corporate Secretary SMBR Hari Liandu in his speech representing the Board of Directors emphasized that K3 standards are not just compliance with regulations, but are part of the company’s culture. “We believe that a safe and healthy work environment will support the productivity and sustainability of the company’s business,” he said.

Meanwhile, Brigadier General Pol. Guruh Achmad Fadiyanto highlighted the importance of the company’s role in preventing drug abuse in the workplace. “Drugs not only harm individuals, but also have a direct impact on work safety and company productivity,” he said.

He also added that the use of narcotics is regulated in Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics. “Where Article 7 states that Narcotics can only be used for health services and/or the development of science and technology, Therefore, it is important for all parties to understand the legal limitations related to the use of narcotics in order to maintain a safe and productive work environment,” he explained.

In line with that, Yoan Desianda emphasized that the implementation of strict K3 procedures is an investment for business sustainability. In this seminar, he presented material entitled ‘Steps for Handling Accidents, Dangerous Incidents, Occupational Disease Incidents (KAPTK), and Occupational Diseases (PAK)’ which aims to increase participants’ understanding of risk mitigation efforts in the workplace. “Compliance with regulations and innovation in occupational safety can minimize the risk of accidents and increase operational efficiency,” explained Yoan.

In addition, on the same occasion, prizes were distributed to the winners of the National K3 Month competition which was participated by employees and work partners.

Through this seminar, SMBR hopes to continue to increase awareness of the importance of occupational safety and support efforts to create a work environment free from drug abuse. (*).
