Commitment to Occupational Safety, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Awards Semen Baturaja PRASETYA AHIMSA Award

JAKARTA – PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (SMBR) as a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG), has once again demonstrated its commitment to maintaining Occupational Safety and Health (K3) Standards by winning the PRASETYA AHIMSA award from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) of the Republic of Indonesia. This award was given for its achievements in Mineral and Coal Mining Safety Management for the 2023 assessment period.
This prestigious award was presented directly by the Director General of Mineral and Coal of the Ministry of ESDM Tri Winarno to the Vice President of Mining & Waste Management of SMBR Muhammad Beni at the 2024 Mineral and Coal Mining Company Board of Directors meeting which took place in Bandung City, West Java on Friday (25/10).
This award was obtained thanks to SMBR’s dedication in implementing superior and sustainable occupational safety principles in the mining sector, as well as the company’s success in maintaining zero accident status throughout 2023. As a form of commitment to transparency and responsibility, the company periodically reports its safety performance to the Ministry of ESDM of the Republic of Indonesia every three months.
SMBR President Director, Suherman Yahya, expressed his pride in this achievement. “This award is real proof of Semen Baturaja’s commitment to safety and sustainability in the mining sector. We are proud to meet strict safety standards and are committed to being a company that is responsible for worker safety,” he said.
SMBR Vice President of Mining & Waste Management Muhammad Beni added that this award is the result of the hard work of the team that implements good and sustainable mining practices. “We always prioritize safety in every mining activity. We hope that this achievement can motivate the company to continue to improve safety practices and build a safe work culture for all employees,” he explained.
In addition to the PRASETYA AHIMSA award, SMBR also previously won two awards from the Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources at the 2024 GMP (Good Mining Practices) Award held on Wednesday (25/9) in Jakarta. The award was given as an appreciation for the company’s success in Safety Management and Management of Mineral and Coal Mining.
With this series of awards, Semen Baturaja further confirms its position as a company that is not only compliant with regulations, but also committed to building a sustainable safety culture and achieving zero accidents in every aspect of mining operations. (*)
