PT. Semen Baturaja (Persero) Tbk (SMBR) will supply cement needs for development projects owned by PT. Rekayasa Industru (REKIND) and its subsidiaries and affiliates.

Cooperation between SMBR and REKIND which is a subsidiary of PT. Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) that is engaged in large-scale EPCC (Engineering Procurement Construction Commissioning) services is outlined in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by the President Director of SMBR, Jobi Triananda Hasjim with the President Director of REKIND, Yanuar Budinorman.

The signing was carried out at the REKIND Representative Office, Kuningan Jakarta on Tuesday, August 6, 2019. The memorandum of understanding was valid for two years since it was signed.

Jobi said the cooperation was also carried out in the field of engineering and business development.

“We will also continue to explore other cooperation deemed necessary in the context of SOE synergy,” he said.

The synergy of BUMN and its subsidiaries is one of the important part of the Three Elephants Initiative.

According to Jobi, the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding is an initial commitment in order to realize mutually beneficial cooperation and be able to provide added value to the company.

“It is hoped that this cooperation can guarantee the smooth operation of each company, of course by continuing to pay attention to the principles of Good Corporate Governance (GCG),” he said.

Jobi expressed that the BUMN he has led over the past year has produced various types of cement according to needs such as Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) Type I, II and V and Portland Composite Cement (PCC).

Jobi said that SMBR is a state-owned cement producer. One of his main tasks, according to Jobi, is to ensure the smooth availability of cement in various regions in Indonesia, especially in Southern Sumatra. SMBR cement products are produced and distributed from factories in three locations, namely Lampung, Baturaja and Palembang.

SMBR products are known for their sturdy and durable quality, so consumers in the retail market do not hesitate to continue buying SMBR products. Cement products owned by SMBR have also been tested to be used for various needs of government and private infrastructure development projects such as Palembang LRT, Trans Sumatra Toll Road and Musi IV Bridge.

“So that REKIND is very appropriate to cooperate with SMBR which has been proven in supplying cement needs in various construction projects,” he concluded. {}
