Company Profile
Established on November 14, 1974, under the name PT Semen Baturaja (Persero), the Company initially had a shareholding structure comprising 45% held by PT Semen Gresik and 55% by PT Semen Padang. On November 9, 1979, the Company’s status changed to a *Persero* (State-Owned Enterprise), with share ownership distributed as follows: 88% held by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia, 7% by PT Semen Padang, and 5% by PT Semen Gresik. In 1991, all of the Company’s shares were acquired by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia.
In line with business expansion, on March 14, 2013, the Company conducted an Initial Public Offering (IPO) and changed its status to a public company under the name PT Semen Baturaja (Persero) Tbk.
On December 19, 2022, the integration of the Company into PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) was successfully completed as part of the formation of the Cement Sub-cluster SOE holding company. This was marked by the signing of a Share Transfer Agreement between the State of the Republic of Indonesia and SIG, whereby 7,499,999,999 Series B shares owned by the State of the Republic of Indonesia in the Company were transferred to SIG. Consequently, the Company’s status changed from a *Persero* to a non-*Persero* company under the name PT Semen Baturaja Tbk.
Subsequently, on December 18, 2025, pursuant to a resolution of the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS), the Company’s status reverted to a *Persero* company under the name PT Semen Baturaja (Persero) Tbk.
Development of Cement Products of the Company
The Company is a cement producer headquartered in Baturaja, South Sumatra, with operations covering clinker production as well as cement grinding and bagging in Baturaja, Palembang, and Panjang. Its products are distributed primarily within the South Sumatra and Lampung regions.
The Company’s journey to expand production capacity began with the Optimization Project I (OPT I) in 1992; completed in 1994, it raised capacity to 550,000 tons of cement per year. Subsequently, the Optimization Project II (OPT II)—initiated in 1996 and completed in 2001—increased production capacity to 1.25 million tons per year.
In 2011, the Company developed a cement mill and packer facility with a capacity of 750,000 tons per year. This facility commenced commercial operations in July 2013, bringing the Company’s total capacity to 2 million tons per year.
In line with its business expansion strategy, the Company conducted an Initial Public Offering (IPO) on June 28, 2013. Proceeds from the IPO were utilized to construct the Baturaja II Plant—with a capacity of 1.85 million tons of cement per year—which played a pivotal role in expanding production capacity and strengthening the Company’s market position in Sumatra.
